Here's one I never heard of before, but it is pretty much the way I would start clam chowder.
From 1939 The Yankee Cook Book which has old fashioned recipes from all six New England States and is from Mrs. Ella Wood Habern of Massachusetts. Does not say why it is called Halleluli or why on Cape Cod, it was known as Cape Cod Stifle.
